Immunodeficiency
At Allergy and Asthma Associates of Michigan, our board-certified clinical immunology team diagnoses and treats primary immunodeficiency syndromes, offering therapies and comprehensive care plans tailored to your symptoms.
What is a primary immune deficiency?
According to the Immune Deficiency Foundation, Primary immunodeficiencies (PIs) are a group of more than 550 rare, chronic conditions where a part of the body’s immune system is missing or does not function correctly.
All primary immunodeficiencies are different, but they all disrupt the body’s immune system. They are also known as inborn errors of immunity (IEI).
We also provide specialized care in secondary immunodeficiencies and recurrent sinopulmonary infections.
To help diagnose your immunodeficiency, we offer the following services:
Medical exam, including medical and family history discovery
Infection monitoring and treatment
Lab testing including quantitative immunoglobulin tests, t-cell defect studies, vaccine response challenges and other tests based on your clinical symptoms
Genetic immunodeficiency testing
Our team offers many options for immunodeficiency, including:
Personalized immunotherapy / immunoglobulin replacement therapy
Infection management through immunoglobulin replacement and/or antibiotic therapies
Asthma and allergy treatment related to your primary immune deficiency
